1) The identity of the voice that told Matoro to put the Ignika on was kept a secret untill 2012, when you said that “[your] feeling at the moment was that it was the Ignika itself.” Why was it kept a secret if it was just the mask?
2) Speaking of mysterious voices, who told Lewa to get the Sundial from Mata Nui? I suspect it was Velika, since who else than a Great Being would know about it?

3) Since the Earth Tribe is tied to nature, does it use animals in its military?
4) Does the Earth Tribe know how to fuse with plants?
5) Since the Earth Tribe knew what was going on underground, did they know about Annona’s existance?
6) The Earth Tribe didn’t care about ending billions of lives, why is that?

Thank you

1) There's a difference between "feeling at the moment" and a definitive answer.

2) Can't speak to this -- it's an MNOG thing, and I didn't work on that.

3) No

4) No. Earth is dirt, it's not plants. Plants would be jungle tribe.

5) No

6) You're mistaken. They did not know the planet would shatter, and there was no reason to believe a war would cost that many lives. Besides, how many human societies have been perfectly willing to see lives sacrificed for their own interests?

7) This is probably a stupid question with an obvious answer, but is the EL of Sand aggressive and territorial like the other ones?

8) How many Velika agents would you say there are?

9) Do Velika agents know about each other? Like, would Peridtus know Atakus is one?

10) Why does Orde think that Velika’s plan must be stopped? Okay, he wants to rule Spherus Magna, so what?

11) Do the Vorox in Kabrua’s pack know he’s a Velika agent?

12) Did the GBs originally belong to a tribe or more?

13) Do you have any idea of where Gaardus might have gone (teleported?) to?
14) Since the Makuta power of Rahi Control doesn’t work on intelligent Rahi like Krahka and Keetongu, is it safe to assume that this is also true for the Mask of Rahi Control?
15) You said that if Teridax was the first Makuta ever created, he would have probably led the Brotherhood from the start. Does that mean that Miserix was the first Makuta?

Thank you

7) Yes

8) Only a very small number. A secret shared is not a secret.

9) No

10) Because he would essentially be a dictator. His whole idea was that the GBs needed to take a "stronger hand" in how society was run.

11) No

12) Multiple tribes

13) Spherus Magna, I would assume

14) Yes

15) It is more likely he was than that Teridak was.

Hey Greg,

You may remember me from your BZPower days. I just wanted to logon and say thank you for supporting the Bionicle community for all these years. I wouldn't be the creative person I am without Bionicle and its incredible story. I finally completed my collection of 2001 sets, and it's made me incredibly nostalgic.

With the LMBs closing, do you know if there's any chance you would be allowed to return to the Fansites? There's still so many things people want to know!

I hope you get to continue writing and creating fictional worlds for LEGO, and if not, please create something new for your fans to explore and enjoy.

Thanks again Greg

Thanks, AZ. As far as fan sites go, the LEGO Social Media policy has not changed -- I'm only allowed to post on sites that have an age verification system in place, so I am not speaking to kids under 13. That's why I had to leave BZP, cause they didn't have that.

Hi Greg- If you are allowed, would you be able to give your thoughts on BIONICLE Generation 2 (if you followed it in any capacity)? Anything you would have done differently if you had been more involved?

Additonally, I've always been intrigued by the suitably creepy but yet somewhat confusing scene in LOMN where Teridax as Dume talks to Teridax as a pair of red eyes. What exactly was going on there? Was that supposed to be his reflection or was there more going on? I'm a bit out-of-touch

1) No, I am not going to comment on G2. My involvement with it was marginal at best, and it's not my place to be Monday morning quarterbacking someone else's project.

2) He was looking in a mirror. It was meant to be a tip-off that Dume was more than he seemed.

In these final weeks before the LEGO Message Boards close, I have a few more questions for you

1. Could you possibly confirm the kanohi worn by Zaria and Orde?

2. Where was the Earth Tribe banished to, or were they simply rejects like the Vorox? Did they die out, or are there still Earth Tribe members on Bota Magna?

3. It is evidently possible for the Red Star to take minds from their bodies when beings die, but is it possible for it to transfer minds into bodies below?

4. You've stated before that Takanuva's destiny was going to be ending a 'civil war' between the Great Beings. What would this conflict have been over? Control of the Planet? Blame for the shattering? Would Energized protodermis have had any part to play in this conflict?

1) I don't recall what was suggested for that.

2) They weren't banished to a particular place. They were simply were not associated with anymore.

3) No

4) It was going to involve Velika's desire to take over the society.

1) There has never been confirmation. I was hoping you could confirm your own ideas.

2) That said, is it likely they have their own villages on Bota Magna?

1) I am fairly sure there were suggestions made by fans. I personally have no thoughts on the subject.

2) Yes

Not sure if these have been asked already, but:

1. Did Takutanuva resurrect Jaller before he could go to the Red Star? Because Jaller couldn't have come back otherwise.

2. How is Avak always aware of the properties of his prisons, seeing as how they are custom-fit to perfectly hold their prisoners?

3. On a similar note, does Avak's prison power have a limit to what it can hold?

4. Had Teridax succeeded in stopping the Toa Metru from taking the Matoran to Mata Nui, how would he have dealt with the threat of Mata Nui dying?

5. Do you have names for any of the Barraki's species?

6. The Bohrok-Kal each have their own mind and personality, yet they can switch between eight different Krana-Kal. Does each set of Krana-Kal have a collective mind, or is each member of the set programmed very similarly?

7. On the topic of the Bohrok-Kal, were they selected by the Bahrag at random, or were they specifically picked in a Toa Hagah-like fashion?

1) The red star resurrecting people, as a concept, did not exist in 2003. So it wasn't an issue when they did the movie.

2) I'm not sure of your question -- if he creates a prison, naturally he would know what the properties of it were.

3) Yes. His individual willpower.

4) Who knows, maybe he wouldn't have.

5) No

6) The latter

7) Random

In regards to #2, I was going more along the lines of if he wanted to cage an opponent whose range of abilities he did not know the full extent of (e.g. a Toa with an unknown mask power). Would the resulting prison only take into account the opponent's abilities that he did know (leaving it potentially vulnerable to the unknown abilities), or would it take into account all of the opponent's abilities, known or unknown, resulting in him somehow gaining the knowledge of the unknown abilities in the process?

Will Velika want to eliminate the Element Lords? For these 7 entities are so powerful and capable of interfering his plan.

Why did you choose Velika's Great Being to be male? I1d want to say, the GB could have been female, who transferred her consciousness into a Po-Matoran body, because she thought that the other GBs might follow her, and they would never look for her in a male Boi-mechanical body [for there are more (known) male characters than females].

His ability -- to craft a prison tailored to its occupant -- means he has to be able to somehow sense what the powers o fhis target are. Otherwise, his power would be pretty much useless.

1) He might just try to recruit them as lieutenants, who will rule their tribes in his name.

2) How would they look for him? He's on a robot flying through space.

Dear Mr. Farshtey:

1: will you be moving to the LEGO life app?

2: Is there anything you want to reveal about Bionicle that nobody has asked yet?

3: if so what is(are) it(them)?

Could Velika theoretically become a Toa. Also, since you stated that the Great Beings don't have any kind of special powers, how could he transfer his consciousness into a matoran? Technology?

First time I've heard of the "Great Beings became Great Beings only because they encountered Annona" thing actually. I was quoting BS01 with the "achieve new heights" thing.

And yes, the Einstein comparison was what I had in mind when I thought of the Great Beings. I think what I wanted to know was, if the Great Beings were always known as "Great Beings" since the beginnings, or they were just random Glatorian who had a mind for "SCIENCE!" and grouped up, and then started getting "fame" I'd guess.

Basically, I wanted to know if the Great Beings were always Einstein-like geniuses, or there was a point where the Great Beings were random Glatorian and then started being "known" and gradually gained knowledge, and through knowledge, they gained power.

English isn't my first language, I might not be explaining myself the best possible way, but I want to know about the Great Being's origins and "roots"

This might have slipped through.

Also, I wanted to ask something else Greg,

I know you don't plan your stories and just write as they come along. But I had some interest in knowing who might have been the victims of Velika's plan from The Powers That Be.

Karzahni and Tren Krom were two.

Helryx, Artakha, Brutaka and the Insane Great Being managed to save themselves.

But what other beings could've been a target? Raanu? Vakama? Tuma? I can't think of anybody specific that could've been murdered in the serial. Or at least, no one comes to mind right now.

  1. Can a mahiki be removed from a being if they are shapeshifted into a form that does not wear kanohi? (Example: While Matau was disguised as a vahki, could he remove his mask?)
  2. If a mahiki user is in a shapeshifted form, and their mask is knocked off, do they (and the mask) revert to normal?
  3. If a mahiki user shapeshifts into a form physically capable of flight (like a gukko), can they fly?
  4. Destiny War, Chapter 7: These obviously were Rahi beasts, but not like anything she'd seen before. They were short, pale bipeds, with large yellow eyes and spindly arms and legs. They backed away and moved to the side as (Helryx) and (Keetongu) passed. But as soon as the two had moved on, they assembled into a group and followed close behind.  Do you know what these creatures were?
  5. Helryx and Keetongu proceed to enter a chamber where a pool of EP  sends a tidal wave at them. Vezon opens a portal and while he enters, Helryx and Keetongu leave through the same portal. What happens to the creatures at this point? They aren't mentioned again.
  6. Is it possible that using the powers of "immoral" masks is frowned upon by the toa code? The purpose of the code is to keep a good public image with the matoran, and I can't imagine using immoral masks would help in that respect. Matoro's usage of his tryna would probably be an example of use out of neccesity, like the other rules can be avoided if there is simply no other way out of the problem.
  7. Are there certain types of kanohi makuta can't wear? I can't see a mask of undeath, for example, working with antidermis nature - the makuta could leave his body and have it revived by the mask.
  8. How would a makuta use a faxon? Couldn't the makuta just create rahi and then use their powers? Or is rahi creation too long a process for this to be viable? Or can makuta simply not use the faxon?

Thanks for answering so many questions for all of us! I'm sure the rest of the community appreciates it as much as I do.

Sorry for repost - was this buried?
