I was wondering, Greg, did you at some point know what the Spectral Mask actually was? I mean, what the nature of it was? What the purpose of it was? Or why it even was there, helping Takanuva? Or better yet, what is it actually?

Also, did you already know why there were some Kestora in the Cilver City Pocket Dimension? You said before that the Kestora were basically the crew of the Red Star, and if that was what they were originally created for as well, how'd, or rather why, is these Kestora in this dimension? Or better yet, do you even know what the place is?

It could be that this is an alternate version of the Red Star, but I find that very unlikely.

That pocket dimension was designed before we invented the Kestora, and I don't believe it was officially stated that is what they were in that story. As for the mask, I purposely left that a mystery. If everything gets explained, things get boring.

I assume that because the internet is already full of things like 'Bring Bionicle Back!'. Think about how these old fans would react after a reboot: 'Bring Old Bionicle Back!' or 'Finish Old Bionicle!'. If I would be ten or eleven, I would just hit some links, and I would find out that Bionicle's previous story line wasn't finished which let to a lot of confused fans. That must be a reason for some fans to be cautious about buying a lot of sets. That is my best hope for LEGO to give you the oppertunity to finish the old story line! Happy

I'm not going to say it's impossible, but it's unlikely. The simple fact is, just as with a television series, there is a risk when you have anything with a storyline that it will end before the storyline is finished. That's the chance you take. Think about Star Wars -- if The Empire Strikes Back had bombed, there would have been no Return of the Jedi and you wouldn't have known how that story ended.

If I was running the reboot, and we had all new characters and a new world to play in, I would want my story focused on those new sets/characters, not focused on sets people can no longer buy.

Reboot. The absolute earliest (if it was decided to bring it back today, which it won't be) that you could see a new BIONICLE would be 2016, probably. So the fans 9-10 year old fans from the last year of the series would be 15-16, and probably not buying that many sets anymore. The current 9-10 year olds would have been 3-4 in 2010, and not remember the old series. Asking them to get caught up on all that backstory to get into BIONICLE would be a bad idea.

I'm sorry Greg, I accidentally made three posts about the tunnel thing. Read the third one and you'd know what I am talking about.

It' from MoL by the way. Remember when Takua said "It looks like it's not been used for a while, and We don't have a lightstone." or something like that, and Jaller said "Who needs lightstones?" and walked into the tunnel using the Mask of Light to see. It's the scene where Makuta Teridax talks to Takua and threatens him and says Jaller will die if he doesn't give him the mask. And then Takua quits the mission.

Hey, Greg, you're a great writer. I love your work for LEGO, and you do a GREAT job at making LEGO Themes epic by giving them great, epic, LEGO quality Stories. I'm a big fan of yours, Greg, and I think you're a great writer.

Have a great vacation.

Why ask them? Make the backstory seem interesting without making anything too complicated and they'll be intrigued enough to read up on it and find something like BS01 themselves. It can certainly work with the right execution. Even then,
a future story arc could work very well with subtle references to the already-established stuff.

I have a question about TSO: If BIONICLE were to eventually return, do you think that he would at least be a caharacter we'll see?

Oh, yes, there is a name for him. But as I told the folks on BZPower way back when, I am not releasing it for three reasons: 1) Everyone hated it when we named Teridax.

What!? Really everyone? I mean, I loved it when you named him! Teridax just really fits him. I mean, Teridax doesn't just sound evil, but more like douchebag-evil! That is just what he is, a douchebag-evil guy. He not a heroic enemy who just has his own opinions of how the Universe should be ruled. No, he's just mean and selfish, and wants everyone to be his slave. Teridax just fits hims! And 'Steve' just fits the Shadowed One (or not)!

Wat.

HOW. DID THIS. GET THROUGH.

Wow that actually gave me a bit of closure. But that also gives me new questions.

1. Me talking to you along with others view you as the living embodiment of the bionicle universe. The "god" of bionicle if you wish. But did you have help writing the story.

2. Did you also have any input on the sets?

3. I've heard you say if you could bring bionicle back you would bring it as a reboot. Do you mean you would push the story into the future, restart from the original story but change it, or completely create a new universe.

4. Regardless of sets if you could make money, would you continue the story in book form.

5. If you were too continue in book form would you make the story darker, most of your audience is now in highschool or have graduated. I remember back in the day reading the books as a kid it was like a euphimism for the darker parts of fiction. Bionicle could be turned into a successful series of teen fantasy novels in my mind.

6. A followup to my 2 question previously, does the red star require your body so they can take your conscience and put it in a new body.

7. Would you have made the red star functioning again if you were to continue the story.

8. I feel another path you could go would be like DC Comics, where they have the crisis on infinite earths which changes the old story and modifies it into a new one. Would you have done something like this for a reboot.

9. Finally, if the golden skinned being was not evil nor good, (9B) why did he have so much power, and (9C) why would he enslave the toa. (9D)Would he pose a threat to the potential settlers of spheres magna.

Hi, it's me again. Sorry to bother you with this, but if there's anyone who listens and cares about the fans, that person is you. I just wanted to get my two cents out about potential Bionicle story continuation. I would appreciate a jump to the future, as I would like my 21 and growing collection of Bionicle sets to still matter, and not be retconned by a reboot. I understand that if it is ever brought back that a reboot makes sense. But I also think with your level of talent, you could make a future jump story work even better! A decade of good work would be a shame to lose to a reboot! And I'd also hate to lose one of my favorite websites, Biosector01. So, once again I'm sorry to bother you with this, but I hope you would take it into consideration, in the event that you ever get to write more Bionicle.

Your obsessive fan,

Okay, but still not sure of your question. Most people don't like going into dark spaces without a lightsource, and considering Takua is unconsciously the destined Toa of Light, it would make sense he especially would not go for dark places.
