I have a couple of questions that have caused some debate in the fan community. 1. Why did Teridax use infected masks instead of sending out Kraata of Rahi Control to control the Rahi in the 2001 storyline? 2. There's been discussion over why certain Rahi can even wear masks. Is it possible that the Makuta purposely designed them with mask "holders" so they could potentially attach infected masks? You know, to perhaps build an army, or guard duty, or something? 3. Unrelated, did Teridax spend the entire millenium after the Great Cataclym under Mata Nui? Or did he ever leave to go to Daxia or exchange news and information with the rest of the Brotherhood? Specifically, was he there during the time period between the Toa Mata defeating him and the Bohrok-Kal/Rahkshi's arrival? 4. If a Reconstitutes at Random Kanoka were made into a mask, would it allow the user to shapeshift, but not have control over the form they shapeshift into? 5. Last for now, what's the difference between the Makuta's Rahi Control and Insect Control powers? I thought all insects that naturally occurred in the Matoran Universe were Rahi. Does this just mean that Insect Control works on insect Rahi, and Rahi COntrol works on everything but insect Rahi?
1) Because kraata were slated to be part of 2003 storyline, so we weren't going to show them in 2001. 2) Or as an easy way to control them. 3) It's entirely possible he spent time within the MU during this period, yes. 4) Yes 5) Yes

For the bolded, I find it unlikely that they would do that. Though it's possible. As for the Italicized, it should be. Tuma's the last known Leader Class Skrall, he would need a female Skrall of the Leader Class to make a new Leader Class Skrall. But then again, the system of reproduction could be different. Although it is possible for a hybrid between classes, i think
8) The Toa Metru took Kanoka to Mata Nui, not the Matoran. We also don't know how brain-scrambled the Matoran might have been when they first got out of the spheres. They might have been doing work under the Turaga's direction and later forgot they did it. 9) Yes. A ruler with no one to rule doesn't amount to much. He had a vested interest in their survival. 10) No 11) As with some species in our world, males and females get together only for a limited time (in this case once a year) for the purposes of mating, and avoid each other the rest of the time.
11. So the females tolerate the male Skrall for a short time? Interesting. Is there a Social Caste you know Scout, Elite, Leader Class, is there one for the females? 11-2. What were the females role before the splitting? 11-3. How do the females give it to males, I thought they despised them
11) Not that I know of 11.2) Don't know 11.3) Biological imperative. As I said, there are species on Earth where males and females largely live apart and only meet up at mating season. It's not that unusual. Tigers, for example, stay together for 5-7 days during mating season, but they aren't hanging out together the rest of the time.

This is less a question and more of a theory to put forward. I was thinking about consolidating species and islands--the topic's been discussed in BZP quite a lot recently--and I thought I may have found something that won't contradict anything in Dark Hunters. I have an idea that Conjurer, Tyrant, Ancient, and The Shadowed One are all from the same Southern Island that Ancient plunged into war. Tyrant and Conjurer were two who individually gave up on conquering the island and left for another southern island to conquer with plans to later conquer other areas. TSO and Conjurer are from the same species (both have similar heads and builds) which is related to, but not the same as Krekka's species, and Ancient and Tyrant are from the same species (both have similiar heads, tails, and claw hands). Both of the races are based in the same island--especially considering Ancient's home island is one of "cold and dark" (I can't remember exactly what it read in Dark Hunters) and Tyrant is impervious to extreme cold. The fact that TSO & Conjurer and Ancient & Tyrant have different sets of powers is of no consequence; some of them may have been experimented on in the war. The fact that they may have been rivals on their island may provide additional reasons why Conjurer and Tyrant are so insolent to the Shadowed One and Ancient. What do you think? It doesn't bend or break anything in Dark Hunters or strech things out too extreme limits, yet it provides a backstory to consolidate islands and races (which is something a lot of people have been calling for).

Yo Greg! So I've been reading up on Kal things and came across Kraata-Kal. His existence seems to imply the substance used to turn krana into krana-kal can strengthen any species, or atleast a large variety of them. What are your thoughts on this? Going off the above, is it likely there's a team of toa running around the MU who are toa-kal? Unity can be manifested as a kaita or nui, we've seen. Do you think it's likely there's some way duty, and possibly destiny as well, are also manifested, completing the three virtues?

Yes, but they don't eat as we do. They absorb energy through physical contact with certain things.
Such as their element (if they have one)?? Would they need to drink as well (to keep hydrated)?? Sorry I forgot to add my main question in my last post: Is it nessecary for sapient beingsd to sleep in the Matoran Universe???

Well, if he had very little, then he wasn't giving up all that much, right?
yeah, but then it wouldnt be so much of a big resposibility.
He was still the Gold Ninja, and there is no way of knowing if his power might not have reconstituted itself over time. So it was still a sacrifice.
I meant the golden power wouldnt be a big responsibility if there was too little.
You are ignoring the fact that the power might regenerate on its own. In a week or a month he could have been a fully-powered Gold Ninja again if he had not given it up.
well,we dont know for sure,but i`ll accept that.thanks!

Sorry for the long delay. I think my first question is -- why? This isn't a retcon that is going to harm anything, as you point out, but I am not sure what it helps either. It sort of feels like a retcon for its own sake.

1) Actually, all this shows is it worked on one other species. It certainly doesn't mean it would work on any or a large variety. 2) No 3) Not that I know of. Kai and Nui exist because we did combination models.

1) Doesn't have to be their element. Matoran on Mata Nui absorbed energy from fish. 2) Yes. They have organic tissue, and organic tissue requires sleep for various reasons.

Hello Mr Greg 1.Is there a scientific domain where the Great Beings are less competent than others? If so, which one? 2.There is objects that the Great Beings could not built? such as the adaptive armor or the rifle Nynrah ghost of the Toa Nuva? 3.Velika thought that Spherus Magna was to be ruled by a strong hand before the core war and the shattering? Or after? 4.The Great Beings are skilled to work with the nanotechnology? for example, they can used the nanotechnology to a medical or military purposes and do other things with that?
1) Not to my knowledge 2) I think it is unlikely anything could be built by a creation of the GBs that they themselves could not build. Remember, they programmed almost everything in the MU. 3) I think he probably leaned that way before the Core War, but that crisis made it more urgent. 4) They probably could, but they are not healers and they are not about making military weapons as a rule. Mata Nui had weaponry to defend himself, but he was not built for aggressive action against others.
2. If the Great Beings have programmed nearly all of the MU did they also programmed the destiny of some beings of MU? As the destiny of some AV-Matoran and the others Matoran to transform into Bohrok and into Toa? The giant reptile with a laser optical instead of an eye that Lewa sees in the reign of shadows is it biomechanics or he has mechanical implants? If he is biomechanics, he has been genetically modified by the Great Beings like the specie of Skopio?

Why the Great Beings have created the robot prototype and for what purpose? Why Annona has failed to devour dreams of the Great Beings? Yet, you said that the Great Beings were like the Glatorian and Agori not like gods or overpowered beings. Where Annona comes from? Another dimension? Alien planet? Or she comes of Spherus Magna? Annona is part of a species? Or she is unique? How the Great Beings have succeeded to defeat Annona?
Buried. And i have four other questions if you do not mind. Does the Marendar has a very futuristic look or he has a more modern look? The Marendar Is made of a material more solid than the Protosteel. basically a pretty solid material to withstand the elemental attacks of a team of Toa? The Marendar has weapons like a sword or a blaster or powers? And finally, the Marendar has a bestial look?
1) Why does one ever create a prototype?
2) Yes, but their minds were advanced well beyond those of standard residents of SM. The concepts they were able to contemplate were too alien for Annona to deal with. 3) Annona's point of origin is not something I ever developed. I had no reason to do so. 4) I see her as part of a species, but I do not believe there was more than one of her on SM. 5) Again, their minds were so powerful that they were basically doing to her what she wanted to do to them. 6-9) Beyond the fact that Marendar is humanoid, I did not bother coming up with more than that. Had he appeared in story, I would have, but I rarely sketched out characters before actually using them.
4. So, if I understand correctly her and his specie come from elsewhere?

Hi Greg, This got buried. If you could answer any of the questions that would be awesome! Hi Mr. Farshtey, 1. I had a question about the mask of Undeath: when reanimated to complete their last objective, can the "Undead" user speak normally and think normally as if they were alive? Or does the mask hinder proper communication and cognition? 2. We have seen some Matoran wearing masks that Toa deem as immoral, would these Matoran keep their respective masks if htey ever transformed into Toa or would they try to find other Great masks to replace their "immoral" mask? 3. I know they can wear the masks if they wanted to, but how likely would they continue to wear an immoral mask if other moral masks were available? Thank you, rud01

1) Can they choose to absorb energy from their element instead though? That would make Le- and Av-matoran great at travelling, not needing to bring fish or something for energy.

1. And Le-Matoran are naturally fast, so, more traveling
