I had nothing to do with set design, Caelum, but I was on the story team and also wrote the novel series. As far as comic scripts go, it usually took me a couple days to do one. And I don't think there is one way a writer gets his or her ideas, it happens in lots of ways.

I can't give you an official answer, but my guess is that LEGO wanted to try another direction after nine years, plus sales were starting to slip and you don't wait to wait until something is really not selling to stop it. You want to go out while it is still somewhat successful.

I make stopmotion videos as a hobby, and I like to try writing stories on the side, but I usually get bored with the story, or it seems to be taking too long to explain and describe everything (in other words, I'm bored and I'm afraid my readers will be the same). Do you have any tips?
Yes. Start your story in the middle of the action -- start in the middle of a fight scene or something like that -- and then explain what you have to explain using dialogue as you go along. That way you hook your reader right away.

The overall story for BIONICLE 2001 (and the true nature of Mata Nui) was all developed before I came to work for LEGO, by people at the company. I did not create the line, I just wrote for it.
