Bionicle fiction that is.

1) I do have stuff of my own that I am working on, but I don't have a lot of time for it.

2) I don't think i would be allowed to do unofficial BIONICLE fiction, since I am a LEGO employee.

So if you would take a bunch of parts and build a MOC, you aren't allowed to make a biography for it? Confused

Not for posting online, no. I am a LEGO employee -- anything I post online, I am representing LEGO Company at the time. Because I am associated with BIONICLE, anything I post re: BIONICLE is going to seem official -- remember, all the serial chapters, novels, everything got read and approved by someone at HQ before they went out. So I can't just do whatever I feel like.

I have a feeling you won't be allowed to answer this, but will the new Ninjago sets be late 2013 or early 2014 releases?

2. Concerning Nova Blasts: When a Toa performs a Nova blast, the effects take the form of whatever element the Toa is, correct? Such as when Gali did a Nova Blast on the island of Karzahni, it took the form of a tidal wave. If a Toa of Gravity performed a Nova Blast, what would happen? Would the result be a black hole, or a massive increase in the gravitational pull of the area? How about a Toa of Magnetism?

Also, despite the differences in effect, Nova Blasts are all generally equal in their destructive power, right? Much like how all the elements really balance each other out?

That was a bit of a wordy question, sorry. I just have one more:

3. When do you think that Velika began to be disillusioned with the GB's way of running things? Was there a particular event that was the "last straw" for him? Perhaps the GB's failure to stop the Core War set him off?

1) Overall, your suppositions seem correct. I would think a Toa of Magnetism would probably create an enormously powerful magnetic field, not a good thing when everyone is at least three-quarters metal.

2) Well, it had to be before Mata Nui launched, so at the very least the CW had to be the straw that broke the camel's back.

Thanks a lot, this is interesting!

Just one thing: Would the magnetic field push away or pull in? Having a magnetic field that attracted objects could cause trouble for the Toa.

Many of the Makuta's powers are the same as elemental ones, like Gravity, Plasma, Lighting, etc. What I mean is, which is more powerful: A Toa's power over the elements, or a Makuta/Rahkshi's power over the elements. (assuming both are putting the same amount of willpower into it)

The strength of these powers is largely based on willpower, so if the willpower is equal, the powers will probably be pretty near equal.

My guess on this subject, though, is that in many cases the Rahkshi would have less power than a typical Toa of that element. Rahkshi are a bit more "wild", if you will, and they probably don't have as much mental control and will power as most Toa.

Of course, different Rahkshi do have different personalities. A cool and collected Rahkshi might have more lemental ability than a wild and raging Rahkshi.

Now a bunch of people are wanting to get it back. I have seen countless videos about that.

Both have been considered -- if a decision has been made on it, I have not been informed.

Hi Mr. Farshtey,

I'd just like to say that it really makes me happy to see you still answering fan questions Smile . I've got a few I hope you can answer for me.

1. Earlier in this topic you stated that you'd like to eventually complete the serials you started on bioniclestory.com, with that site no longer in existance where could bionicle fans hope to find these serials once completed?

2. You also mentioned earlier that should bionicle become an active line again you wouldn't reccommend the story just be picked up where it left off, as it would be confusing to young LEGO fans. While I don't expect talks about the return of the theme have gotten too detailed, if they occured at all, what would your preference for a return of the bionicle story be? Taking the story to the distant future, a reboot, or something else entirely?

3.When the red star revives someone what state are they brought back in? I ask this because you once stated that beings in the matoran universe do age, they just have long lifespans. If deceased beings died of old age and were repaired on the red star in their aged states they would  die again soon after their return. Are they repaired to their freshly created state, their peak condition or their state before their death.  Could we use Lhikan for an example? Would he have been revived and placed into a state identicle to his matoran body, his toa body when he was at the peak of his strength, or his turaga body or a completly new body?

Thanks for taking the time to read through my questions,

I hope you get the chance to work on the serials soon, I've always been a huge fan of your work Smile

1) No idea. I am thinking more in terms of whether I would ever find the time than where it would live.

2) Too early to have any ideas. A lot would depend on where TLC wanted to take it and what the set designs might be.

3) You raise an interesting point. I don't think old age is an issue, because dying of old age comes down to parts breaking down. But a new body is not going to have broken down parts, anymore than it would have the wounds of someone who died by violence. It's like putting a new engine in your car ... if you have taken care of the rest of it, you basically have a new car.

Hey Greg, What did Kopaka see in the red star that made him so.. Worried? And why is Velika trying to blow everyone up?

Hi, Greg! Your books rule!

Question time:

Is it possible, on a scale of 1 to 100, how much did you not want for Bionicle to end? And also, despite me being a massive fan, why did it close?

Greg, what would happen if a revived being on the Red Star was killed?  Would he/she/it be revived a second time?  Would it keep on happening as long as a body is left to recover? Thinking

That is actually a great question, Daler, and I have a weird answer for you. No. The red star's sensors were programmed to sweep Mata Nui -- not its own interior. So if a revived being is killed WHILE ON THE RED STAR, the machinery won't know it and they will not be revived, The only way revival would happen would be if someone set things moving  manually.

Thank you, Greg! Happy  Wow.  Okay.  So, if the revived being was killed and then taken to the remains of the Great Spirit robot, would he/she/it be revived?  Also, how would one set things in motion manually?  Would they take the being to the revival machinery?  Again, thank you for that wonderful answer. Smile

Well, they can be revived within the red star, if they are taken to the appropriate place inside of it. That opens the second problem -- if the teleportation does get fixed, there is no more Mata Nui robot to transport them back to.

Okay.  Why would it be fixed if it would teleport to a pile of metal?  I mean, Gaardus got down, so couldn't other beings?  Unless, of course, only flying creatures could get down.  Also, does the Red Star revive rahi?

1) You are assuming the kestora know what happened to Mata Nui. Their focus is on fixing it, because that is what they are supposed to do.

2) We don't know the circumstances of Gaardus' return, or how that was effected.

3) I am going to say no, because the Makuta determine how many Rahi are needed and Rahi are specialized as species but usually not as individuals. Having too many Rahi of one type could end up being a problem, so having an automatic return program might not be the best idea.

1)  Good point.  I guess I did assume that.

2)  Hmm.  Okay.  Another good point.

3)  Okay.  Makes sense.

I have a fallow up question on this, could it be possible the kestora where killing off some of the ebings in the red star when things stoped working? It seemed to hint that in the story.

I doubt I would have been allowed to get quite that dark in the story.

Isn't the Piraka and Velika close to that dark?

No, not really. If the kestora were killing things, it would be essentially for an experiment - kill them to make sure the machinery to bring them back is working. LEGO would never let me do that.

Ah, I hadn't thought about it that way.  Good point.

Matoran is basically computer language, so no, the Agori do not use it. And we do not know what the regular language of the Great Beings is, has never been revealed.

Can the Matoran understand Agori speech and vise vera?

Yes. Mata Nui made that possible before he departed.

Okay, so everyone can now understand each other?  Not just the group that battle on Spherus Magna?
