There have been a few things I've been wondering about lately I was hoping you could clarify. I've been out of touch with the community for a bit so I hope these aren't questions you've already answered. 1. Were Vakama's visions intentional from the Great Beings or more like a malfunction? 2. We know that Velika gave the inhabitant of the MU true sapience, but what about Mata Nui? Did he get it from Velika or the Great Beings? 3. Early BIONICLE branding used "in a time before time" a lot. Characters seem to use it to talk about before Mata Nui was awakened, examples being Vakama telling the story of Mata Nui and the Bohrok saying they will return the island to the "before time." To them, does time start with Mata Nui awakening or was this just a branding thing? |
FawkesMacLeod | 2015-08-26 15:41 UTC–5 PermalinkDear Mr. Farshtey,
1. When the Brotherhood of Makuta was in possession of the Avohkii, why didn't they infect it so that the eventual Toa of Light that it would create would be their thrall? Is the mask naturally immune to being infected?
2. Was the Avohkii imbued with Toa Power, making it a one-use Toa Stone of sorts? Is that why the mask was constantly glowing until Takanuva made it his, and why it never transformed the Dark Mirror Takua? |
ShadowEmperor7 | 2015-08-27 00:29 UTC–5 PermalinkHi Greg! I've got several questions for you:
1. Why did the Great Beings design Mata Nui's body with islands and oceans inside of it? 2. Can Takanuva to become part of a Toa Kaita or contribute to a Toa Seal? 3. Who created the first Kanoka Disks, and would it be possible for someone to make more Great Disks and forge a second Vahi? 4. Did any of the Glatorian in the story remember taking part in the Core War, like Ackar? 5. Did Mata Nui ever actually use his function where he hides in the ocean and forms and island over his face, outside of the time it was triggered accidentally on Aqua Magna? 6. Where was the Pit physically located in Mata Nui's body? 7. And on that note, wouldn't Mahri Nui have been located very close to the opening in Mata Nui's chest that Voya Nui burst out from? 8. Do you know anything about the "Biodermis Smith" from MNOG? (If you don't know about it, there's unused assets showing an Onu-Matoran in a hut who seems to be building Rahi from parts.) 9. Is it possible for the original Bionicle story bible to ever be released? 10. What's your favorite Rahi and Matoran? |
aidanbionicle1 | 2015-08-28 03:20 UTC–5 PermalinkGreg, from what I am aware, protodermis is it's own substance, so why in the story is it referred to as water at times? is it a mix of metallic protodermis and sea water? and if so, why wasn't it referred to as it's own thing? |
Rory865 | 2015-08-28 10:36 UTC–5 PermalinkBuried. Also, regarding Krakua's future fortress that Vakama saw in the vision presented by the Kratana, would this have been on Spherus Magna? And how much would you be able to reveal about the status/purpose of the golden Skakdi Fusion? |

Because to the inhabitants of the MU, liquid proto was water, so that is how they referred to it. It is also awkward to constantly be writing "liquid protodermis" in a scene. |

1) Why does your body have organs and a bloodstream? The inside of a robot would not be solid metal - it would have various components to help make it work, lubrication systems, etc. 3) No idea, and if you had the right materials, yes, but it's unlikely. 4) Yes 5) Yes. He had been visiting and scanning planets for tens of thousands of years before the story started. 6) Don't recall 7) No, because Voya Nui drifted away from the opening on the ocean current before Mahri Nui was formed. 8) No, I don't, but I can't see how it could be canon. Matoran do not make Rahi. 9) One, I have no idea if it still exists anywhere, and two, why would LEGO Company want to do that when they are trying to promote an all-new BIONICLE? 10) Don't really have ones |

1) No. At the time I wrote the Krakua stuff, I don't believe SM as a concept even existed yet. 2) The status has not changed because the story is frozen. |

1.) So what were the plans, if any, for the fortress Krakua would inhabit?
Also, just to repost the questions from the buried post, how many inhabitants of the Matoran Universe knew that they were inside Mata Nui's robot body? Was it just the OoMN, or were there more?
And finally, I read somewhere that your favorite style of music is Jazz. I myself am a Jazz Guitarist studying at music college. I was wondering what specific styles and artists/composers are you in to? |
raymondmay11 | 2015-08-28 23:12 UTC–5 Permalink2. A few pages later, Karter talks on the phone to his boss. Karter states that the Heroes will go for him next. Is Karter's boss the same person as the creator of the Brains, or is he someone else? 3. If Hero Factory was not discontinued, would the "Mysterious villain" have been revealed? 4. Was there reasons as to why LEGO chose to replace Hero Factory with Bionicle this year? If so, can you list some of them? |
DavidM96 | 2015-08-29 18:06 UTC–5 PermalinkHi, Mr. Farshtey!
It's been a while since I asked you my questions, and I've come up with a bunch more. I'm working on a fan-version of the unresolved BIONICLE plot points, so I wanted to see if you could perhaps clarify some things for me:
I know a lot of these are hypothetical, so you might not have any definitive answers, but knowing your thoughts and/or hypotheses would be awesome!
Thanks again for all that you do! Have a good weekend! |

Not even a Makuta or Tuyet? And What would be the power of the three legendary masks combined or fused according to you? The power to realize the inner desires to one who own the mask maybe? (Although that no being in the MU could use the mask.) |
Andrew31kbrick… | 2015-08-30 02:18 UTC–5 PermalinkHey Greg, is the only time it is okay for a Toa to kill being to stop a villian from harming Matoran? |
