Hello creator of all story and lore that we have come to love since 2001. I have 3 questions for you.

Is there a chance of collaborating with the new author (if there is one. I'm not up to date on the reboot thing) about somehow making a connection between the old and new generations of bionicle? Like have Mata-Nui come to them, or make them remember who they were?

is Jungle more important than Air?

I once bought a book about ,etru Nui when I was 5. It introduced me to bionilce and I loved it (thank you). I think it was called legends of metru Nui and it had a basic overview of all the characters. There was a disk code on one of the pages. What did it unlock?

If there is a Kraata/Rahkshi of Weather Control it would make sense that the MU has weather, right? Though it could be some kind of ventilation thing, like when humans break wind haha. Except you said once before that the MU doesn't have different weather, because it would hinder the work of the Matoran. But which is correct then? Are there weather or not? Or is it the power to summon weather, like storms, lightnig storms etc.?

There's been a lot of debate about whether or not there was weather in the MU. I don't think there was weather as such. However, given that Matoran are partly organic and do have to breathe, etc., there had to be some kind of life support and environmental control systems. Plus you probably had fire suppression systems (sprinklers and other things), some kind of ventilation system to keep the interior of the machine from overheating, etc. To someone who did not know they were in a big machine, these things would feel like what we consider to be weather.

Does that mean Rahkshi/Kraata of Weather Control could not use their powers outside the MU, like on Mata Nui?

I have another question for you, & it's something that some people's been wondering about. When did the Makuta actuarlly learn that Mata Nui was a giant robot? Was it only when he finally found the Core Processor? I remmeber about 70,000 years ago, Tren Krom gave knowledge of MU to Mutran, which he then delivered to Teridax. I assume he didn't say it's a robot. More like "Metru Nui, Mata Nui, MU are related to each other." But did Makuta ever learn that Mata Nui was a robot, on his own, & if he did, when was that? A 1000 years ago? It would kind of make sense that it was why he wanted to use the Vahi to speed up the mindwipe of the Matoran while they were in the pods. Because what would happen in a 1000 years? Mata Nui would die because of his virus. & he could have used his Matoran slaves to revive him, & help him in the Plan. Am I on to something?

Hello Greg!

First, I would like to thank you for a huge work with the Bionicle Universe and for creation of the base for the whole fandom.

Second, I would like to ask you some questions about several aspects of the Bionicle Universe.

  1. According to the plot, Antroz shapeshifted his Kanohi Jutlin to have teeth. Are those teeth parts of his actual mouth or are they just cosmetic additions around the mouth?
  2. On the actual set, Antroz's wings are attached to the shoulders. In your perception, are those wings attached the same way or to his back?
  3. The story says that Light can be drained from somebody or, otherwise, return in the light-drained being. Thus, Light as an element is some kind of a matter or an energy. Is that right? Maybe Light is a state of mind, some mental discipline?
  4. Why did the Great Spirit used Antidermis to create Makuta species instead of the usual Protodermis?
  5. What are the actual differences between the Antidermis and Protodermis/Energised Protodermis and which one is more opposite to the Antidermis?
  6. Was evolution of Makuta from the solid Antidermis to the gaseous form of it planned by the Great Beings or it just happened accidentally (as the evolution in standart terms)?
  7. If Antidermis forms of life are able to evolve from solid form to gaseous form, is the same, at least theoretically, possible for the Protodermis forms of life?
  8. Are Protodermis, E. Protodermis and Antidermis periodic elements or rather some kinds of compounds?

Thank you!

1) I doubt it. One, I am not involved with new BIONICLE at all. Two, outside of the appearance of the Vahi in places, I am not aware of any plans by the BIONICLE team to link the two. There is so much mythology attached to old BIONICLE that introducing it into the new universe would necessitate new fans having to catch up on an awful lot to  understand it.

2) More important how?

3) No idea. Too many years ago for me to remember.

Yes, but they don't eat as we do. They absorb energy through physical contact with certain things.

Mr. Farshtey,

As far as comeing up with stories for the characters goes, would it be you (or any other writers) that writes the backstory and the set designers would make sets around it, the other waay around, or writers and designers work side by side, taking notes on eachothers work?

Set designers went first, based on a general idea of the setting and story. Then we created the characters based on the sets.

I'm sorry if you were already asked these, but theres ALOT of pages to go back from.

Well, they were about 50 pages each, so probably 6-8 days.

Can you read them, and then tell me what you think of them?

1. In the planned graphic novel 10, there were 3 exclusive chapters planned to be realized, inside of those were there any planned appearances of the great beings? As you likely wrote the story for this I figured you might know.

2. Was Velika planning on eventually {smashing} the other Great Beings as well other than the Cursed Great Being?

That's about it for now, more Great Being questions coming soon.

But don't Skakdi eat as we do?

In addition, I would think some members of Krekka's species might eat like Skakdi, or members of "Airwatcher"'s species

1) How many camoflauge machines did the GSR have? Just the one on it's face, or did it have ones covering it's entire body?

2) Do all the things the Great Beings have come with emergency kill switches?

3) Was the mask of creation forged solely to be given to Artahka/Karzahni or was it used by the Great Beings before being given to Artahka?

4) Could a toa fill a Zamor sphere with elemental energy? If so, what would the limit on this be; Could they, over time, fill it with a nova blast's power, or would the sphere explode before then?

5) Lastly, the Skakdi are cool, probably one of my favorite MU races. Could Spiriah(Or another Makuta) have given a single Brotherhood-loyal Skakdi all the Piraka's powers if he tried and thus create a supah-soldier to crush the Makuta's foes?
