dinoatack53 | 2015-01-06 17:55 UTC–5 Permalinkis there gonna be a set and/or an unbuyable mini set like an exclusive with something like $75 or more and you get the mask of creation? (i'm talking about the msk of creation) |
davros1995 | 2015-01-06 18:37 UTC–5 PermalinkEven in the old days, Greg's involvement with the toy side of things was limited. He's the story guy. On top of that, he has nothing to do with the new Bionicle, so he's the wrong person to aks even about story for that, let alone sets. |

Even if I knew the answer to this, we are not allowed to discuss anything about future product plans, positive or negative. |

I can't see that happening for old BIONICLE, and I have no idea if they will do that for new BIONICLE. |

Toa-Nuva-von-M… | 2015-01-07 06:11 UTC–5 PermalinkHi Greg!
I have a question concerning Nova Blasts. It has been quite a long time, though, so I wouldn't be surprised if you don't remember.
The concept of the Nova blast has originally been established in the non-canon video game "BIONICLE: The Game". Or at least, it is the prevalent belief that you took the concept from the game (probably after someone told you about it, because I assume you did not play the game) and made it canon. Even the Wikis mention that the Nova Blast originated in this game.
However, in the English version of the game the Nova Blast was actually referred to as the "Nuva blast" (with a "u", as in "Toa Nuva"), which hinted that only the Toa Nuva could do it. Some translations changed it to "Nova Blast", though. (I know the German translation did, I haven't checked any other translations.)
So I was wondering, did a fan (who only played the translation) suggest the Nova Blast to you when you canonized it? Or did you consciously change the name and scrap the Nuva-exclusivity? (If so, why?) Or did you come up with the concept yourself and it's just an accident that a similar concept with a similar name has been in the game?
Again, I wouldn't be surprised if you don't remember, but I thought it is worth a shot. |

I mean like those early contests like the rahi contest and the dark Hunters contest. |
ouberry | 2015-01-07 21:28 UTC–5 PermalinkHi Greg- First off, I've been a fan of Bionicle since 2007 (when I joined) and I have collected a few books from the beginning of the saga (including book 1 of the original Toa story). Here's my question: There are a few inconsistincies with the Glatorian stroryline and the original storyline. In Mata Nui's story that was on the website, Mata Nui says that he landed on Aquos Magna and said the leaders became the Turaga and "all memories of working in a robotic universe were erased from the minds of all but the Turaga", implying that they landed on Aquos Magna and were immediately were on Mata Nui. Yet the Turaga talked about living in Metru Nui, many years before they arrived at Mata Nui. Was Metru Nui like a representation of living in the Mata Nui robot? Another thing: Makuta claims he hurled the Mask of Life "deep into the cosmos, never to return", and there is even a picture of the mask in deep space, but the mask was on Aqos Magna, which is right next to Bara Magna, so either the mask made a huge ciricle, or Makuta is horrible at throwing. <-- Makuta |
AndRew5329 | 2015-01-07 23:00 UTC–5 PermalinkYou once told that you wanted to name Comic 7 of the Ignition Series called "Mask of Life, Mask of Doom" to "Mask of Life,Mask of Death" instead of Doom. Why was it not allowed if there's "Death of a Hero" or "The Death of Mata Nui"? |
Gresh113 | 2015-01-08 09:32 UTC–5 PermalinkYou have stated time and time again that romantic love between Matoran is non-canon. I, however, have a theory on this. Maybe romance is canon in an alternate universe. This would explain why there is clearly romance in the Bohrok Animations, and MNOG. It's because it takes place in an alternate universe. The real events in the main universe are similar, but without the romance. In fact, this theory would explain everything non-canon. Thank you for listening to my ramblings, and have a nice day. |
Gresh113 | 2015-01-08 09:35 UTC–5 PermalinkCan you create a mask worn by a Kiata(Mask of wisdom or Mask of Valor, for example) by carving a disk created by combining the disks required to create the masks of the Toa who are part of the Kiata? |
