How much longer will Bionicle and Ninjago continue? Do you (Greg Farshtey) know if Hero Factory will end because of Bionicle? Will Ninjago ever have a prequal?
I can't discuss future product plans. That is confidential LEGO information.
Ninjago is getting a prequel. Why?
How much longer they will last isn't really a secret. Neither is is Hero factory ending. The only thing that is a secret is the Ninjago prequel! And if they wen't doing it it wouldn't be a secret!
This is just a theory but still.
To my knowledge, nothing has been announced about a prequel for Ninjago, so I don't know where you are getting your information.
Is the Kanohi Jutlin made from Weaken disks? Their powers are nigh-identical. (As suggested by a member on BZP.)
In Tales of the Masks, the first book you ever wrote for BIONICLE, Onua Nuva and Turaga Whenua encounter a large, pale, tentacled worm Rahi in the depths of Onu-Wahi. In Challenge of the Hordika, Krahka assumes the form of a large, pale, tentacled worm Rahi to fight Roodaka. Was Krahka imitating a member of the species encountered by Onua and Whenua?
In Reign of Shadows, when the Toa Mahri witnessed the Skakdi creating the golden fusion, they assumed that Teridax had put the idea in the Skakdi’s minds, because only he, the Great Spirit, would know that all those beings were destined to transform. However, in an answer in this topic some weeks ago, you implied that Teridax was not responsible for giving the Skakdi that idea. If you wouldn’t mind clarifying: did Teridax manipulate the Skakdi into creating the fusion, or did he not? And if he did not, who knew, and how, that all those beings were destined to fuse?
A while ago, you confirmed that Velika had agents loyal to him stationed on Bara Magna, whence they reported the goings-on to him for 100,000 years. You also confirmed that some of the characters we met in 2009 story were agents of Velika. After this was revealed, I ran a BZPower topic where members discussed which characters they suspected to be working for Velika. The top contenders were Vastus, Atakus, Metus, and Berix. Were any of these four characters working for Velika, or were our suspicious wildly off?

Okay. What other products have you designed other than Bionicle and Ninjago?
I did not create BIONICLE or Ninjago, and I don't do set design.
I meant the story line. You do help with the story line, right?
I was on the story team for the original BIONICLE. I am not on the story team for Ninjago. I write stories for it, but they are based off the overall storyline created by the team in Billund and the TV show writers.
Ah, ok. I really only know who you are because I googled you. It said you wrote about Bionicle and Ninjago, or something like that.
1) are there any sapient species on other planets in the Galactic Universe in BIONICLE storyline?
2) is it possible, that one of the "Dimensions of Meaningless Time and Space" (information from BS01) is inhabited?
3) can you say something more about your idea of "Great Beings' Civil War"?
1) It's not something the story team ever discussed, because we had no plans to take BIONICLE into outer space
2) Sorry. I don't know what you are referring to
3) Not really, no. That was an idea I was toying with for future story, but it was never fleshed out because the line got cancelled.
2) It was in one of the 2006 books, either Island of Doom or Dark Destiny, when the Toa Nuva were fighting the Voya Nui Resitance Team and Dalu used her tools to make Gali's vision go wild, and she saw dimensions where time and space had no meaning. It drove her insane until she met Axxon.
Some of them are inhabited, but by forms of life unlike anything we have seen before.
Do you have an idea of what they would be? Or are these dimensions so bizarre, that the writer of the books is at loss for words?
2: Why did the Bahrag look like T-rexes? I would think the GBs would make them less threatning.
3: Why were their tubes of energised protodermis in the Bahrag's lair.
4: Why did the Bohork look like giant pill bugs? Couden't the GBs make them more destructive?
Thanks again!
1) I haven't been asked to be, but since they would probably want to focus on new BIONICLE now, not old BIONICLE, I would assume they would want to interview someone else.
2, 4) There are no story reasons for why they looked as they did. They looked that way because a) that is how the set designers made them and b) the intent was for them to be perceived as bad guys before their real motivations were revealed.
3) My assumption was that they were put there by the GBs during the construction, for purposes as yet unknown
"His mask was the most ornate anyone had ever seen – more than just a Kanohi, it was a true work of art. The metallic protodermis from which it was forged was arranged in intricate patterns and designs, each reflecting one of the many cultures that flourished in the universe. The eye slits were angular and pointed, giving him an air of both wisdom and a vague sense of menace." — Narrator, Reign of Shadows
2. What... With spines, big teeth... everything?
3. Oh, it is a Gen 2 thing... Seen in the trailer we got at NYCC.
4. Information
1) I would say you would need to look at that description and decide for yourself if you think it matches what is being shown for the mask now.
2) Probably, yes
3) Okay, I can't answer Gen2 story questions
4) No. He only had contempt for them. In his eyes, they wouldn't have been worth killing. After all, it was the Makuta who knew how to bring down a giant robot, not the Turaga
2) Someone on BS01 said that you previously told us that their bodies would still be like any other Toa. I don't see how this contradicts anything though. Their internal stuff is the same, but their mettalic exterior looks different.
1.) What has happened in the City of Silver Pocket Dimension after Takanuva left it? For some reason people don't ask much questions about this place, since it appeared in an Early Readers book.
I was wondering about a canceled book you were working on in 2006, Bionicle Legends: Invasion. Before Scholastic decided to have three books a year instead of four, Invasion was planned right before Prisoners of the Pit.
What are some of the interesting things you remember about the story? If you were given the chance by LEGO to rewrite and release it as a treat to die-hard Bionicle fans(And I know there was a big group campaigning for it in 2007), is that something you would be interested in doing?
Also...I'm going to put this in spoiler tags so other people reading the question aren't spoiled by a specific story idea...
In Invasion, I heard that you had plans for Jaller to use his flame sword to completely incinerate the Spear of Fusion. Would this have replaced Reidak breaking it in Legends #5: Inferno, and how did you feel about having a Spear of Fusion around longer then a year?
The scope of it, I think. It was such a broad universe that you could tell stories for ages and you could do things in different genres if you want to.
I agree. It was/is a really big universe with a lot of possibilities for fanon. Thanks so much for answering all our questions, I know how busy you must be with a 'regular life' and then coming on here to answer hundreds of questions. So, thanks
Greg I'm a big fan I'm joining the battle of the mask compition I hope to win and I'm a big fan of bionicle I want to ask u something for the contest can we use hero factory part they count as technic
Argh, the quote thing didn't work correctly so here they are
1. Would a growth Kanoka enlarge a Gadunka or does it work differently?
2. Can non-canon (but LEGO-licensed) material like BIONICLE Heroes be considered alternate universes?
3. If you were to choose two other characters in place of the two 2009 Bionicle Stars (since they were from the last year and those characters could still be shown in the comics), who would they be?
