Hello Greg Farshtey,

When I saw the "Legend Animation" thing, I noticed that it semmed just like the original storyline on Mata Nui Island. So I started to wonder, is this reboot going to completely restart the story? Because over the nine or ten years Bionicle was around before its cancellation, it built up such an amazing universe. Sometimes I wish it stayed simple like it did with the original sets, but now I don't want to lose that universe. Could this Makuta be one of Teridax's many brothers, and Ekimu or whatever his name is really be the original creator of the masks? Artacka or something? Please, I just don't want the story to start over, because then having the first team back would not be as nostalgic. My idea for the problem of having multiple Makutas is that at some point, all the Makutas revive Makuta Teridax, the Makuta from the original sets. Then, he kills them all. Ta-da! Only one Makuta, and now he's even more powerful from eating their souls or something. Please, make this happen. To, me the worst things that happened to the story were the multiple Makuta, the fact that the Toa Nuva got left out so much, and the death of Teridax. If this reboot starts over with the story, that will be the very worst thing. Please, if it's not too late, make this reeboot a coutinuation of the story rather than a do-over. Please.

Dear Mr Greg,

Firstly I wish to say that  it's a big pleasure and quite an honor to have the opportunity to chat with the "core" of the Bionicle Universe Story line. I'm quite a Bionicle fan since 2002 and still am, but not that active though since the story ended. And it was an amazign ending, I have to point out.

I mainly wrote to you introduce myself and show my respect towards your years-worth work.

I never really had questions regarding the Bionicle story line since it's all neatly written on Bioniclesector01, but I do have few now....and maybe in the future Smile

This thought has been bugging me for years:

* A percentage of Av-Matorans changed into Bohrok/ Bohrok-kals as it was planned by the Great Beings. *

1. What happened to the mind/soul/memories of the Av-Matoran that transformed into a Bohrok.

*I've noticed a question on this forum about wether or not it was known from the start that Mata Nui wasn't a god but a robot. You confirmed that in 2001 it was already planned for Mata Nui to be a robot.*

2. Did the Bionicle story was given so much brainstorming that you had the complete plotline years before it officialy ended ?

2.2 Were there times when you had to come with some ideas for the story in a spot ?

3. About the Bionicle Reboot. Are you maybe aware if the masks will be compatibile with the old Bionicle parts ?

4. (This question came to me right now Happy ) As a main pillar of the Bionicle deveopment do you have a collection of Bionicle sets? Smile

Thank You in advance for your time and attention.

Sincerely, Christopher.

Hello!

I was buying some pieces on BrickLink, when I saw some Tohunga pieces really cheap. So I wanted to just buy a couple pieces and make my own Matoran. But of course, I like my sets to be as canon as possible. So I pose this question...

Did any Matoran die, and got revived on the Red Star, prior to them rebuilding themselves?

Thanks.

1. Could Teridax force Mata Nui's spirit in any other mask besides the Ignika?

2. Are the eyes of the Fikou some sort of weak spot?

3. Could the Bohrok-Kal use regular krana?

4. Do you think it is possible that the pit mutagen mutated several Takea sharks to glow underwater? We've seen like, 4 variations of the mutated Takea, there must be more, right.

Hi m Greg

1. The artificial intelligence of the makuta and mata nui can controlled the robots as they have demonstrated. If they are     able to control robots is that the artificial intelligence of the other inhabitants of the MU could do it?

2. Tren Krom has an artificial intelligence as the other inhabitants of MU? or he is the only one in the MU that has a true   intelligence like agori? and at the same time I have another question on TK as he is completely organic can it reproduce?

3. during one of my last question I asked you in what way velika wanted to rule the people of SM and you answer me: velika wanted to establish a stricter rule to prevent that an event like the core war this repeats again. but yet in the web series: the yesterday quest it was mentioned that velika had a dark plans for people to SM and that he should be stopped. So if the plan of velika is only to establish a stricter rule for prevents a new catastrophe it is not really a dark plans. so I wondered if the famous dark plan of velika is establish something like a new world order. The toa mata could join velika believer do the right thing. And the vorox of bota magna would be a scouts and all those who dare to break the rule will be severely punished. And I wondered if Takanuva would be a kind of "voice of reason" for the people of SM ... well this was my idea... I am desolated for the lengths but as the new bionicle is a reboot and the history of bio G1 probably will not Completed I was holding to have this information...

At this point, the story team is done with their work for 2015. So I don't think any major changes could or would be made now. Questions about the nature of the 2015 story should really be asked in the BIONICLE forum, as I am not involved with the new line.

Hey Greg, as a reference for the story team, what exactly was your input on the new Bionicle line? I mean, what did the story team reference you for? Did you help with the story itself, or help flesh out the lore/characters, or help establish the overall tone?

I read the story bible last spring, which was probably the second to last version of it. I made a few very minor suggestions, no idea whether they will be incorporated or not. That was the extent of my participation.

Hi again Greg,

As of now, many people including me have seen the Bionicle footage from NYCC. I like what I saw and had no objections with it, and many other people share this opinion. However, there are many fans of the old series who believe that the new Bionicle has been "kidified," and "watered down" in terms of tone and story, and "simplified" in terms of lore and depth. These complaints typically revolved around everything from the absence of old Bionicle terminology from the released info to the character bios, and more.  Though I felt the complaints were unjustified and the complainers too quick to judge, these things have intrigued me.

I understand that Bionicle will be and has always been marketed to children. It is a toyline first and foremost. But it was a unique and well-fleshed out one. Bionicle stuck with many fans both old and young, including me, not just because it was well-developed--anyone can, with enough time and imagination, create rich universes--but because it had a sense of maturity and took itself seriously. It was for kids, sure, but outside of the movies it never got to the point of being cheesy.

Thus, although I believe that the complaints are unfounded, and that in the end Bionicle is for kids, I must ask: From what you can tell,  will be enjoyable to the older fans of the series? Also, how does the tone of the new story compare with the tone of the old?

P.S. I hate to bother you, and I hope I'm not asking too much, but if you can't answer these questions can you send my inquiry to a LEGO employee whom you think can provide answers? Thanks.

It's impossible for me to answer this. I can't speak for what the old fanbase wants or doesn't want, nor can I explain the decisions that were made for new BIONICLE since I am not on the story team. This is really a question that needs to be asked of the new team.

You recently confirmed, I don't know where or even how, but it seems you did, that the First Toa Team's name was the Toa Cordak. Does this mean that Lesovikk kept a Cordak Blaster on his sled to remind himself of his failure?

I would assume he kept it as a weapon. The name thing just got decided a week or so ago, I see no point in now trying to retrofit the set to fit something that just happened.

1) Probably not. You really need a sophisticated AI to be able to control a giant robot, and I think even Makuta struggled with it initially. I am not saying it is impossible, but it would be really hard.

2) It can't reproduce because there are no others of its species. And yes, it is completely organic and so do not have AI.

3) Yes,it is a dark plan, in my opinion. There are things just as bad as war, like having all freedom squashed in the name of "order." A dictatorship is not a good thing.

I understand that the Mask of Creation worn by Artakha and the Mask of Creation worn by Ekimu are very different objects; one is a Legendary Kanohi, the other a Mask of Power. However, do you think you could confirm that they both have the same shape? The community has long awaited an image for Artakha's mask.

1) They are basically overwritten by the Bohrok's programming

2) The original head of the story team, Bob Thompson, had what he called the "seven books of BIONICLE" in his head. So basically 2001-2004 came from that. 2005 came about because a decision was made that we had to do Metru Nui for a second year, and after that, Bob was gone and we were brainstorming more on a year by year basis.

2.2 Not for full year story. Sometimes for stuff in the middle.

3) No idea

4)  I have some, down in the basement
