Hey Greg Farshtey! I heard that you had a version of the ending of BIONICLE Chronicles #1 Tale of the Toa. I read the original book by C.A.Hapka and loved it! The original ending to the book was that the Toa swiched opponents and used their elemental powers to defeat the Shadow Toa. You changed the ending so that the Toa absorbed the Shadow Toa into their bodies and you later stated that your version was cannon. Not to offend you but I hated that change and I feel that it doesn't really make sense to go back on something that was already established in the story. Can you please explain your reason a bit better?

Simple. Cathy is an extremely talented writer, but she was not part of the story team, did not know the universe all that well, and basically was adapting the comics for most of her time on the line. I felt more qualified to decide how the fight should end and I had cleared my ending with the story team.

Hi Greg!

First off, thanks again for doing this and answering all these questions.

1). Do you have a favorite comic book? I remeber a "Killing Joke" refernce from a 2008 serial (Vultraz I think said something about having one bad day could corrupt the protagonist)

2). How come the mask of life had more sentience than the mask of time, another legendary mask, that had none?

Thanks again

1) I would say I have stuck to Avengers the most over the years. I go in and out on Spider-Man (I am reading it now, but went years without reading it), and my loyalties to Batman were severely damaged by the "Death of the Family" storyline a couple years ago.

2) Well, one, because we needed it to for story. But also, I think it just makes more intrinsic sense for Life to be sentient than for Time to be sentient.

Wow. Just wow. This feels amazing to hear Greg Farshtey say how glad he is to share one of the greatest fictions of all time with us.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I have been collecting the sets ever since I got Matoro at McDonalds back in 2001. Ever since then, I have been absolutely hooked, buying as many sets as possible and ending up with titans like Vorporak, Toa Mata Nui, Scorpio-XV1, and smaller characters like Turaga Vakam ,Hahli and even the promotional Fikou set.(Hey, do you know where that set came from by any chance? I found it on e-Bay.)

I wouldn't say you were my idol-I have no idols-but I really looked up to you as a kid. I enjoyed your stories a lot. I bought every Legends book, every Adventures book(Except Maze of Shadows and Voyage of Fear, which I checked out of the library multiple times for weeks), the Papercutz graphic novels 1-8, every Bionicle comic since May-June 2002(except for November-December 2007-July August 2008, there was a mix-up with LEGO Magazine), all the Bionicle movies, all the Hero Factory Secret Missions novels...good greif, I might just start crying.Joking

Please, find some way to stay involved with Bionicle 2015. How could it be the same without you?

Thank you for the very nice comments. Sick with a bad cold on a rainy day, they were a nice way to start the day. As for your question ... well, the question back is, does LEGO want it to be the same? Or do they want it to feel like something new?

Hi Greg,

On BZP we've recently been discussing where the giant robot that Teridax took over might have landed after Teridax died. We know it's on Spherus Magna of course, but we were wondering where exactly. Journey's End says Teridax was driven to the north by Mata Nui, then one of the moons hit his head and he fell down on the Black Spike Mountains. Comic #7 also states the two robots were fighting in the north, but the Mata Nui Saga depicts the protagonists gathering with the Ignika at the end near some kind of sea or ocean, which suggests them being near Aqua Magna, i.e. on the other side of the desert we visited in 2009. We theorized Mata Nui might have walked from the Black Spike Mountains to Aqua Magna while he was creating plant life all over Bara Magna. It would make sense that he would walk around while doing this, since he was trying to cover the entire desert and his giant robot body wouldn't have made it very difficult for him. We decided to run this theory by you:

1) Did Teridax's robot fall onto the Black Spike Mountains as detailed in Journey's End, after which Mata Nui walked with his robot to the shores of Aqua Magna on the other side of Bara Magna while creating new plant life?
2) If not, where exactly on Spherus Magna did Teridax's robot body land when he died?

Many thanks!

Yes, someone asked this the other day. I don't have this info.

1) A fourth LEGO Star Wars what?

2) LEGO does not normally release set pics to the public until it is time to put the sets up for sale

COOL!!! I have one question: will you continue making those mini comic books for bionicle 2015?? I would love that, as when my bro used to get them like ten years ago, I obviously didn't read them, but now I am more into the theme.

I'm not aware of any plans for comics.

I haven't heard much about Hero Factory or anything close to it. Is it being discontinued?

3. going back to the lava thing, i just thought of something else: you said earth/stone toa couldn't do it, and your reasons made sense, especially when you brought up the fact that ice toa don't control water, the melted form of their element. but then i remembered that hakann and avak made a lava monster to fake out the voya nui matoran... how did they do that if neither one of them could control lava?

1) You're talking about manipulating bodily fluids of organic beings, not metal inside bio-mechanical beings? How would that not be disgusting?

3) I am going to ask a favor, and that is that we just drop this. I am under the weather and I feel like we are going down a rabbit hole. If we did not assign control of  magma over the nine years BIONICLE was active, then we aren't going to do it now.

1. see the post pertaining to Avatar... the fluids would still be inside them, although i suppose removing them would be a nifty way to "eliminate" an opponent, if for whatever reason a water toa decided to do that!

2. so...

3. fair enough, although what was the deal with the lava monster? wishing for your speedy recovery.

i think this got buried.

Sorry, Wagas, but I can't discuss anything regarding future product plans until LEGO makes announcements.

1) I have no familiarity with Avatar at all, so citing that really doesn't help me much. I just really don't see this as something LEGO would allow, as I said.

3) I really don't recall, all of that stuff was written nine  years ago now.
