  1. Given that some locations on the island of Mata Nui were named after the Toa Mangai—Naho Bay and the Mangai Volcano being two examples—would it be safe to assume that other locations on the island (such as Tiro Canyon or the Motara Desert) were named after members of the Mangai as well?
  2. Do all members of Tobduk’s species have the ability to feed off of emotions, and if so, can they feed off of emotions other than anger?
  3. Could a Toa or Turaga of Sonics use their powers to dampen sounds entering their own ears, eliminating their sensitive hearing?
  4. Could an experienced Toa of Fire use his powers to fly (such as launching fire blasts from his feet or hands) or would they need some sort of device to enable flight?
  5. Given that the Vortixx developed the Electro Chute Blade from the technologies of Metru Nui, and that Underwater Chutes connected the city to other places, would Chutes have been utilized in other locations of the Matoran Universe, such as smaller cities?
  6. It was mentioned in The Mutran Chronicles that Metru Nui was led by Turaga during the Matoran Civil War.  When you wrote that entry, did you imagine there being only one Turaga, like Dume, or a group of them?
  7. When you were conceptualizing the character of Marendar, what did you imagine him/it to look like?

Thank you again for offering your time to all of your devoted fans!  We truly appreciate it!

1) They were likely named after Toa, but it may not have been from that particular team.

2) Yes and yes

3) Yes

4) No

5) Yes

6) Only one

7) I didn't. I don't think in pictures, I think in words, so I rarely imagine what someone will look like, especially before I actually have them show up substantially in story.

Why are they suspects?

If you can't answer these all at once, do them a few at a time.

1) What do the baterra define as "weapon?" A pencil can kill, if wielded right, and many weapons have everyday, nonthreatening use (knives in a kitchen, axes used on trees, quarterstaffs used as walking sticks...)

2) In "Prisoners of The Pit", it says about the sea squids "They did not come into being in a normal way..." What is that "normal way" in the MU?

3) Does the Makoki Stone work as a universal key?

4) When Johmak shatters into crystals, the crystals "fly". What is their method of propulsion?

5) How are the projectiles fired in Zamor Sphere launchers, Cordak blasters, etc.?

6) Can all Order of Mata Nui agents use Kanohi?

7) Do Kakama give all toa the same speed? As in, if two Kakama-wearing Toa had a race, would there be a winner?

8) Does Matoran have grammar or literary/verb structure?

Sorry if this is too much.

Hello,Greg. Will you answer these questions for me ? It seems you've been ignoring them. 1) Do the GB posess the level of technology required for interstellar travel? If yes, did they visit any other planets and "create" life on them ? 2) Can one reach our universe (or the Marvel/DC/Image/... Uni/Multiverse for that matter) utilizing the Kanohi Olmak ? 3) Do the GB posess the technology required for such an achievement ? 4) We know that Keetongu heals from any poison. Do the GB have technology to synthesize a similar effect using an apparatus? If yes, can it be utilized on a Toa ? 5) Can any inhabitant of SM (excluding the GB) be affected by the Visorak poison? I mean, can the Glatorian/Agori/... be mutated by the Visorak ? 6) If an inhabitant of the Matoran universe affected by Visorak poison dies, will he/she/it be cured on the Red Star? If not, why?

This Motara and Tiro, what elements are they?

Does this mean that: Leva, Fau, Pala, Kanae, Kumu, Hura-Mafa, Fusa, Papa Nihu and Marn were Toa names also?

I'm assuming that since these names are used in BIONICLE locations that they are approved by the legal team. Could you by any chance assign these names to characters we have no names for? Here are some nameless Toa.

A Toa once imprisoned by the Brotherhood of Makuta; this Toa was forced by Mutran to use a Kanohi Rau to communicate with the Blade Burrowers in Kalmah's old realm, but learned nothing from them.

A Toa of Plasma - Attacked by Zaktan; current status unknown

A Toa of Sonics (revived) - Killed by Hakann and Avak

Various Toa of Water (revived) - Killed by Hakann

A Toa of Gravity (revived) - Killed by Lariska

A Toa supposedly killed by the Dark Hunter Charger, from whom the latter got his tool (revived)

A Toa who visited Nynrah to secure a deal; he went after the Dark Hunters after the theft of the prototype Zamor Launchers and was killed. (revived)

A Toa who wore a Kanohi Suletu who died on the way to Karzahni (revived)

Numerous Toa of Iron and Magnetism killed by the Brotherhood of Makuta (revived)

Three Toa that were killed by Nektann during the Battle of Bara Magna (deceased)

Several Toa of Water that helped move aquatic Rahi to Spherus Magna

The Toa that formed Prototype.

The other Toa from the Makoki Stone guard team; which included a Toa of the Green and two others.

Thanks for your time.

"Fusa" (a la the Old Fusa Path in the MNOLG2) is the name of a kangaroo Rahi, so it's likely not also a Toa name. Also, if it's useful (or if anybody is curious), here are where those place names are from:

Leva: Leva Bay in Po-Wahi (where you dock your boat to reach Po-Koro in the MNOLG)

Fau: Fau Swamp in Le-Wahi

Pala: Lake Pala in Le-Wahi

Kanae: Lake Kanae in Le-Wahi (you ride an elevator up a giant tree here to reach Le-Koro in the MNOLG)

Kumu: Kumu Islets to the south of Le-Wahi

Hura-Mafa: Hura-Mafa River in Ga-Wahi

Fusa: Old Fusa Path leading to the Ga-Wahi beach (you use it to leave Ga-Koro in the MNOLG2)

Papa Nihu: Papa Nihu Reef in Onu-Wahi (Onua washed ashore here)

Marn: Marn Tunnels in Onu-Wahi (Nuparu was the Tunnel Engineer 2nd class of Marn Tunnel 12, Section 4; they also appear in the MNOLG2)

Dear Greg, how did the Metru know about the legends of the Toa Mata, and did ANY of the matoran or other species know that they were in a giant robot.

Hey Greg:

1) Do you think a Toa would be paralyzed if he broke his spine, or does the physiology of MU inhabitants not work that way?

2) Was Takua--the first matoran created--non-sapient when he came into being, or was he an exception and created sapient? Maybe he could have been the first matoran to recieve sapience from Velika?

3) Are matoran assigned their names upon creation, or do they have to make it up themselves?

4) Would it be safe to say that all MU inhabitants are protodermis-based lifeforms in the same way that we humans are carbon-based lifeforms?

4a) If so, can we call their DNA equivalent PNA, for protodermic nucleic acid?

1. Is it ever a being's destiny to die? (Except for reviving Mata Nui)

2. Would you say that now that the MU has been evacuated, MU inhabitants would have a destiny set for them automatically, or they are free to choose because they are no longer "programs in the massive computer (being Mata Nui)"?

You might not know the answer to this but are the set designers familiar with the bionicle story and characters? Do they know which character they are designing and whether that character is male or female? Thanks.

Hi Mr. Farshtey, I'm a huge fan of Bionicle and I loved your writing for the series. I have a few questions.

1. I know you've said hypothetically that if Bionicle were to return, you'd rather it be a reboot than a direct continuation so that newer fans could get into the story. But how would you feel about a continuation that took place after the events of the original but maybe being far into the future or at least just a seperate storyline, such that the events of the original happened, but all the details of it are not crucial to the immediate story?

2. Are Agori and Glatorian the same/related species or completly seperate? Like, are the Glatorian maybe a warrior class of Agori, or perhaps there is a recessive "Glatorian Gene" to explain why they are more rare.

3. I know that Agori and Glatorian are a naturally occuring organic species, but does this mean they reproduce. And If so how? (I know this is a kid's site so you don't have to go into detail. Mainly I'm asking if they give birth, or lay eggs, or what not?)

4. Was the Order of Mata Nui aware of the true nature of the Matoran Universe, at least to some degree?

5. About how much elemntal power do Turaga have? I have a head cannon that they can't control their element, but they still have a connection to it and can sense disturbances in it, and I was wondering if this was close to accurate?

6. In the Mutran Chronicles, Pridak said that he and the other Barraki were Mata Nui's choosen rulers. Did Mata Nui actually entrust them with that reponsibility or was this simply how they justified themselves, kind of like how real world rulers justify themselves by saying they are backed by God.

Thank you so much for doing this chat, it means so much to me and a lot of other fans. It shows me that, even though BIonicle officially ended, it hasn't died.

does the Agori and Glatorian have a longer lifespan even without the mechanical implants?

When and how Nuhrii, Vhisola, Orkahm, Ehrye, Ahkmou and Tehutti knew the locations of the Great Disks?

My personnal thinking is that Teridax knew them and, with or whitout the help of Nidhiki and Krekka, he informed the Matoran about it, before they know that Vakama and teh others were transformed into Toa Metru.
Because, if they had been informed of the emplacements of the Great Disks too early, they would already have to try to catch them for personnal purpose, in view of them behavior in BA 1, in my opinion.
