1) The Hagemann brothers write the show

3) Have you had anything published before?

No, I never have had anything published before, but I have a peotry blog on which I post up my poetry. I also write the Ninjago Fan fiction "Stormchild and the Ninja". I am starting a book about some kids who have different magical powers. I'm hoping to get it published!

I do have some of my poems on here, if you have a look at "Ninjago Poems"

What if it was Velika who gave them their sentience? Would Velika want to mess with the system created by the other GBs? I might make sense, considering that they're at odds...

Another possibility is Tren Krom. He might have had the power to somehow "glitch" the Matoran into sentience, yes?

Oh, the Velika theory is REALLY interesting, Firox ... heck, we could talk for days on that one.

I agree!  I had never thought of that... Thinking  However, why would Velika want to mess up the system created by his fellow GBs?

Maybe for the same reason all GBs do what they do: scientific advancment and experimentation.

Well, we know he already disliked his fellow GBs at this point ...

Greg,

I have a question for a research project I am doing. Was your work environment affected when LEGO was struggling economically and how has that changed in the time since LEGO rose to be a very successful company?

My personal work environment was not affected, because LEGO Magazine did not change much at all during that time. In the years since, Club has become more important and there are a lot more people involved with it than there used to be. And, of course, I no longer work purely on Club these days.

The issue you are going to run into is that it is really hard to get published if you haven't been published before. In my case, I had had three novels and about 35 game books published,  plus all my LEGO Magazine work, before I ever got a BIONICLE contract from Scholastic.

How come the GB's can't make anything that doesn't glitch out sometime or another? Joking

Greg, what is your favorite food?

Is there anything else you'd like to do aside from writing?

What storyline did/do you feel is the most unrestricted writing? Or, in other words, what do you feel that you don't really have to go within the bondaries of LEGO?

Human inventors can't so I saw no reason they would be able to.

1) Shrimp

2) Probably play piano

3) That's easy - my own, non-LEGO, writing. Anything I do for LEGO is going to have to live within LEGO's rules.

I've been developing a theory for a while, and I'd like to hear what you think - is this possible or not?

Currently, we don't know much about exactly how the Matoran gained their sentience. We just know that, at some point or another, they began to be able to think freely and feel emotion.I've been turning possibilities over in my head, and this discussion gave me an interesting idea:

What if it was Velika who gave them their sentience? Would Velika want to mess with the system created by the other GBs? I might make sense, considering that they're at odds...

I think I would enjoy discussing it for a bit, if you'd like to.

My main idea behind the theory is that Velika would somehow have realized that he could hurt the other GB's plans (or at least forward his own) by giving the Matoran sentience.

Maybe he would have figured that he could use the Matoran much more effectively if they were sentient.

Also, I don't know what the eventual end of his plan is supposed to be, but if it involves him becoming the ruler of the universe, he would probably rather rule over sentient beings, not mindless drones.

And I just realized something... if Velika entered a Matoran body as the MU was being launched, he would have had to feign being a mindless worker for quite some time while analyzing the Matoran, at least until figured out how to give the Matoran sentience (assuming that the theory is correct).

Also - did Velika actually help build the Great Spirit Robot? If he was involved with the creation of the Matoran, he would have had that much more knowledge of their inner workings (and found out what else he needed to know by actually entering a Matoran body).

Yes, he was involved in the building of the robot. And I do think he had an eye on messing up the GB's plan.

Your best bet would be to hit the reference section of your library and look for a book called "Writer's Market" -- there's a new edition every year and it lists all the US publishers and what kind of books they publish and what they require from an author to look at his or her manuscript.
