1) Because there is no news. The sets for this year are out already and it's too eary to talk about next year. 2-3) You'll find out when you read the book 4) Book 9 is a 2014 book, yes 5) Probably because art did not exist yet. The script gets done first. 6) No. As I mentioned, we keep the new sets in a showroom and only a small number of people (in the US, at least) -- I would say less than 20 out of almost 2000 employees -- is allowed in there. The other people who get in there are buyers from stores like Target or Wal-Mart who need to see the sets before they place their orders for the store. Of the people who are allowed in, no one is allowed to take any pictures of anything. 7) No. I have not dealt with that at all in my books. |

1) I didn't create it. BIONICLE had been created before I joined the company. 2) Kopaka 3) No time, and LEGO needs me focused on active lines, not cancelled ones. |

I'm super sorry I am wasting your time. I was writing some stuff convincing you to tell me, but now I undersand how you feel. I'm sorry about doing all this stuff. I'll just do some more research and come up with conclusions. These are some.
I'm having a problem. In my new school, when I told my friends that I am Ninjago's biggest fan, they wouldn't believe me, just because I don't have all the Ninjago stuff. Dude, There are 83 of them! Plus, a person chould have all 83 and not even know a thing about the ninjas. I'm like a ninja encyclopedia. I'm keeping track of everything Ninjago. Since you work for the LEGO Group. Can you PLEASE write something dubbing me "Ninjago's biggest fan". (Please don't say no to that.) |

@1: Basically, the plot is more or less the same as the actual storyline, but most of the levels are sidestories or happen in between events. |
BIO_FACTORY | 2013-09-08 18:42 UTC–5 PermalinkGreg I have a question for you. If you ever got to create a theme for LEGO what would the story be? |
ninjay25 | 2013-09-08 19:11 UTC–5 PermalinkI have question, in ninjago, is "boarding school for bad boys" run by bad guys? Or is it to teach the boys to be good? |
GoldNinjaM | 2013-09-08 19:58 UTC–5 Permalink
Darkly's used to be a school, where bad guys taught kids to become bad, but it later became a normal boarding school. |

jts21 | 2013-09-09 00:17 UTC–5 PermalinkHi Mr. Farshtey, I've got a couple questions today, but I'll try to keep it brief .
1. Earlier in this topic you stated that you pitched some ideas for the replacement of Bionicle that weren't picked up. I'd be very interested in hearing what they were, if possible.
2. It's closing in on four years since Bionicle ended and there still appears to be quite a vocal and passionate community dedicated to Bionicle, going as far as making petitions and otherwise doing what they can to get it back. I was curious as to how much the LEGO company has noticed this, and if it has made any sort of a noticeable difference to you. I apologize if this is a difficult question to answer, and understand if it's one your bosses would rather you not answer. I'm not asking if it's coming back, I'm just curious as to how much impact fan support has had on the subject since the theme's end.
Thanks for answering our questions, and writing such enjoyable comics and books, Jts21 |
Mesonak | 2013-09-09 02:02 UTC–5 PermalinkHey, Mr. Farshtey; I'd like to preface my question by saying that I'm very glad you've returned to the community in this form. Your absence on BZPower has definitely been felt over the course of the last year, but it's very kind of you to still seek to enrich the community in some way, even if it's not through BZP. Plus, it can't hurt to have some new perspectives; BZP could be very... interesting at times.
I have two questions, and I apologize if they have already been asked before.
1. While I understand many of the story details that people are curious about as far as BIONICLE is concerned simply don't exist, since you never planned that far ahead. However, there is one thing which you may know; Takanuva's destiny. Could you enlighten us as to the plan for that particular piece of story?
2. Conceptually, which theme do you prefer - Legends of Chima or Ninjago?
Thanks for your time, Mesonak |
